Active Directory User properties – Environment tab

The environment tab of the user properties window is used to configure the startup environment for the remote desktop services.

1) In the “starting program” section you can configure what program you would like to run on startup and where while connecting through remote desktop services.

  • Program file name – enter the program that you want to execute on start up
  • Start in – enter the working folder in which you want to execute the program, if the user tries to close this, the entire system will log off.

2) In the “client devices” section you can configure what drives or printers the user should be connected to when he logs on.

The values related to this Tab are stored in a LDAP attribute called userParameters.
