Active Directory CSV generator tool

The CSV Generator Tool assists in creating a CSV file that includes a personalized array of user-specified attributes and their corresponding values from the Active Directory. This file is prepared for efficient bulk management of the Active Directory. This tool is available free of charge and operates by taking a basic CSV file with essential attributes like sAMAccountName, and generating a comprehensive CSV file with a complete attribute list. This feature significantly reduces the time and effort required by administrators and other personnel involved in Active Directory management.

How to use CSV Generator?

The following steps will guide you through to generate a CSV file.

  • Open “CSV Generator Tool”.
  • Select the AD object type from the list.
  • From the import option, browse and select the CSV file.
  • Click on “Generate” button, to get CSV file containing Canonical Name, Display Name and Description attributes.
  • Click on “Export” button, to save the CSV file in a different location.

If you require the output CSV file with additional attributes, follow the steps given below:

  • Follow steps 1 – 3 as mentioned above.
  • Click on the “Advanced” button. The Advanced Attributes dialog box will open.
  • Select all the required attributes from the given list. You will find all the corresponding fields in the left pane.
  • Click on “Add” to include the attributes. It will be shown to the right.
    Note: You can use the option “Delete” to delete the unwanted attributes.
  • Click on the “Finish” button.
  • Click on the “Generate” button which will provide you the object details with all specified attributes.
  • Export the CSV to your desired location.
